Reinforced or protected openings, such as windows with impact resistant glass.
Decks that have close spacing and were constructed with large nails or proper length deck screws. This would especially be important to roof decking.

New home construction that meets Florida building codes as of March 2001.
Secondary water proofing measures, such as roof leak protection.

Before obtaining a new homeowner insurance policy or renewing a home owner insurance policy a four point inspection may be required. The four areas of the inspections are: Plumbing, Heating / AC, Electrical System and Roof Structure. The inspection consists of a general evaluation of these aspects of the home.
